Look what came in the post today!!

And here is the one I want to knit. Immediately.

However, I need to finish the Flower Petal Shawl first. Plus, I’m going to order my wool from Bendigo Woollen Mill, so hopefully that will give me time to finsh the shawl.

Then, of course, there’s the socks. See, I bought a new pair of shoes today.

Aren’t they pretty?

They’re just crying out to be worn with  some interesting socks. Given the dearth of sufficiently interesting socks out there in the market place, what else can I do but knit my own?

So I went to my favourite wool shop and bought some sock wool, and a set of very snazzy shiny metal double pointed needles.

I’m  just dying to get started on these. I’ll start with something fairly basic at first, but really, the possiblities are endless.

I ordered some really interesting sock wool (and some pretty stitch markers) from an Etsy seller today, so there’s another pair lined up already.

I think that sock-knitting is a fairly portable hobby, so I’m hoping to be able to get away with some quiet knitting in lectures at uni. Either that or crochet scarves etc. If I don’t do something I just doodle and daydream. Knitting/crochet helps me concentrate. Hopefully my lecturers see it the same way.
